Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026

Overview

Argus helps brands monitor Instagram and Facebook ad comments, hide harmful comments, draft replies to buyer questions, and review activity in a workspace. This Privacy Policy explains what information Argus collects, how we use and disclose it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you.

This policy applies to the Argus website, product, and related support communications. It does not govern Meta, Stripe, Clerk, or other third-party services, which operate under their own privacy policies.

Our Role

For account, billing, website, and support information, Argus determines how the information is used to operate the service. For social-platform comments and related content processed for a customer workspace, the customer generally decides why and how that data is processed. Argus processes it on the customer's behalf to provide, secure, maintain, and support the configured service.

Information We Collect

Account and workspace information. We collect information such as your name, email address, user identifier, brand name, website, support email, workspace settings, onboarding choices, plan, and account status.

Connected-platform information. If you connect Meta accounts, we process selected Facebook Page, Instagram Professional account, ad account, post, commenter, comment, reply, permission, and moderation-action data needed to provide Argus. This may include comment text, usernames, platform IDs, timestamps, links, classifications, draft replies, and action metadata. We also receive webhook payloads from Meta.

Product content and configuration. We collect automation rules, protection settings, brand voice settings, knowledge items, guardrails, approval choices, moderation metadata, usage events, and other content you submit to configure the service.

Billing information. Stripe processes payment details. Argus receives limited billing information such as a Stripe customer identifier, subscription plan, payment status, renewal or cancellation dates, and transaction-related records. Argus does not receive your complete payment card number.

Support and communications. We collect messages, feedback, and other information you send when contacting us or submitting in-product support requests.

Device and usage information. We and our analytics providers may collect IP address, browser and device information, referring pages, pages viewed, button and form interactions, session events, and approximate location derived from an IP address.

How We Collect Information

We collect information directly from you, automatically when you use the website or product, and from services you choose to connect, including Meta, Clerk, and Stripe. We only access connected-platform data after an authorized user completes the applicable permission flow.

How We Use Information

We use information to authenticate users, operate workspaces, connect Meta assets, classify comments, hide or review comments, draft replies, show reports, process billing, troubleshoot issues, secure the service, improve product quality, and communicate with customers.

We use service telemetry and customer feedback to understand and improve Argus. We do not use customer social-comment content for unrelated product development.

We may also use information to prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, comply with legal obligations, and protect the rights, safety, and security of Argus, our customers, and others. We do not sell personal information or use customer social-comment content for advertising.

AI Processing

Argus may send relevant comment text, commenter usernames or platform identifiers, platform and post context, configured names, phrases and domains, brand knowledge, guardrails, and workspace settings to AI providers to classify comments and generate grounded reply drafts. We limit requests to information reasonably needed for the feature. AI processing can produce incorrect results, so Argus uses rules, confidence checks, and human-review paths to reduce risk.

How We Disclose Information

We disclose information to vendors that help provide hosting, database infrastructure, authentication, payments, analytics, support, platform integrations, and AI processing. These providers include services such as Vercel, Neon, Clerk, Stripe, PostHog, Google, Meta, and DeepSeek. They may process information under their agreements with us or their own terms and privacy policies, as applicable.

We may also disclose information when you direct us to, when necessary to complete a platform action, to comply with law or valid legal process, to investigate fraud or security issues, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. If ownership changes, this policy will continue to apply unless you are notified otherwise.

Analytics and Browser Storage

Argus uses technologies such as cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar browser features for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, and signup measurement. We currently use PostHog, Google Tag Manager, and Vercel Analytics across our website, sign-in and sign-up flows, and product when those services are configured. These services may collect usage and device information directly.

You can limit cookies or clear browser storage through your browser settings, although doing so may affect authentication or product features. Our website does not currently respond to the browser's Do Not Track signal because there is no uniform industry standard for that signal.

Retention

We retain account, workspace, connected-platform, and product data while an account is active and afterward for only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and audit records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations. Retention length depends on the type of data, why it was collected, and whether a legal obligation requires us to keep it.

Disabling an asset in Argus stops future moderation actions, comment backfills, and new comment processing for that asset. Argus also asks Meta to stop sending webhook events for Pages that no longer have an active Argus asset. If Meta still delivers an event, Argus does not save the comment to Inbox or send it to an AI provider. Disabling does not revoke Argus's Meta authorization or delete previously stored data. You can request deletion as described below. To revoke access, remove Argus in Meta Business settings.

We may retain a limited record of a deletion request and the action taken. Data covered by the request is deleted or deidentified unless continued retention is required for a legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting reason. Some data may remain temporarily in backups until those backups are replaced.

Security

Argus stores Meta access tokens encrypted and uses access controls designed to limit workspace data to authorized users. We also use transport encryption and operational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service. No internet service can guarantee complete security, so you should use a strong, unique password and protect access to your connected accounts.

International Processing

Argus and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have privacy laws different from those where you live. Where applicable law requires an international-transfer mechanism, we use a mechanism appropriate to the transfer.

Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You can disconnect Meta assets, adjust automation settings, update workspace information, manage billing, or ask us to access, correct, export, or delete personal information where applicable. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. Some requests may be limited by law, contractual obligations, security needs, or the rights of others.

If your information appears in social-platform content that an Argus customer controls, please contact that customer first. Argus will assist customers with valid privacy requests when required. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right provided by applicable law.

Children

Argus is a business service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to Argus, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when required.

Contact and Deletion Requests

Questions, privacy requests, and account or data deletion requests can be sent to support@argusai.io. Include the email address associated with your account and a description of your request. Do not send passwords, payment card numbers, or Meta access tokens by email.
